XP per Level
Total XP is what you need to have earned to be that level. Reaching level 100 takes 405,476,328 XP, and 87% of it is earned in the last ten levels.
XP Gain vs Level Difference
Fighting far below your level costs XP, and so does fighting far above it. Areas more than 10 levels above you give progressively less XP; being more than 2 levels above the area decays XP exponentially — but only in areas below level 54, so overleveling costs you nothing in level 54+ content.
At player level 58, full XP comes from area levels 54–68.
